|
Decades long Danube cooperation efforts have resulted in a number of Danube-wide regional organisations and institutions, thanks to whose efforts specific Danube development efforts are being deepend and integrated from Danube-wide perspective, on the basis of intergovernmetal agreements. These organisations have often been the place where informal cooperation networks of various sizes and on various levels have emerged, and where various stakeholders from the Danube region met and agreed to undertake common and concrete activities that would contribute in a specific way to the sustanable development of the Danube River Basin as a whole. For a better overview, a summary of the main Danube development organisations is provided here. The summary includes only those international entities whose work is directly connected to the entire Danube River Basin area, and which directly deal with Danube related issues. Orientative information sheets on these entitites are available through the links provided in the 'who is who' box on your right side, while for detailed information on their current activities and projects your are encouraged to visit their websites or contact them directly. For entities whose work focuses on specific sectoral topics or specific parts of the Danube River Basin, you are invited to consult the Danube links section and visit their respective websites. |
