The work of some of the Project Groups established under the coordination of the SECI Agenda Committee and in the framework of the six ground-setting programmes, gave birth to few new regional self-statutory bodies that show affiliation to SECI. Here one can include the Business Advisory Council for SEE, the SECI PRO and the SECI Regional Centre for Combating Transborder Crime, which are currently functioning as full-fledged and independent bodies with offices in Thessaloniki, Greece and Bucharest, Romania respectively. Nonetheless, their relationship to the SECI office in Vienna is maintained through their involvement in various activities in the new projects launched under the umbrella of SECI, as for example in the Partnership for Improvement of Danube Infrastructure and Navigation (PIDIN), or through continuous logistical and policy support and guidance to their offices on the part of the SECI Coordinator and the SECI Vienna Office.
